Purchasing a framed print should be an enjoyable experience because it is obviously something that reminded you of something or someplace you saw or someplace you want to be or something that you want to see or endear close to your heart. Spending your hard earned dollars to purchase a quality print can be a little unnerving in today’s economy and that is why you should consider purchasing conservation grade materials. Whether we matte and frame your print or if your own local gallery does it, be sure to spend a few extra dollars to purchase these products.
The use of conservation glass and conservation matting will add years to the life of a photograph. It is also essential you choose a high quality mounting board as well for any print you purchase. We use only high quality acid-free foam core board for mounting. This will help insure there is no damage to your print from hard acids in the materials that are found in the cheaper products available. All of our photographs come standard with these higher quality mounting boards.
To also help add to the life of your photograph we recommend you use a conservation grade glass and matting to help keep out harmful ultraviolet rays. These higher quality products will block out 97% of those harmful rays that cause yellowing of the photograph and matting over time.
